Hunting high and low I eventually came across the solution and this is it.<\/p>\n<p>Edit the \/etc\/samba\/smb.conf file and put the following lines in<\/p>\n<p>Put this in your smb.conf.<\/p>\n<p><em> load printers = no<br \/>\nprinting = bsd<br \/>\nprintcap name = \/dev\/null<br \/>\ndisable spoolss = yes<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You will then see your messages file size reduce dramatically.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of my big pains with samba is amount of CUPS cant connect errors it has been putting in my messages file.
